Could you imagine the rock and roll stars of the sixties worrying that their music was going to be stolen off a computer? It was science fiction back then to think we could do what we can do today on the internet. I can hear the Beatles asking, ”What is this download music thing you speak of?”

You can get music for free on the internet if you know the simple technology required to record music onto your computer. George Harrison wrote and recorded the song, ”While My Guitar Gently Weeps.” You can download it for free somewhere online. His guitar probably weeps for all the people who take the song for free.

Many artists start off writing, singing, or performing for free. It is a way to get noticed so that people will want to pay for your work later on. It is a way to get work. But once an established artist starts being paid, he or she does not want to work for free anymore. And he or she does not want his or her work stolen.

Ask most people who down load music and they will not say it is illegal however. If people can legally record music off the radio and movies off the TV then why not off the internet?

The difference with the radio is that the radio has an agreement with the music industry which allows people to record music off their broadcast. Also, people have to wait for their favorite music to be played on the radio. On the internet people can choose what they want to hear and record. And the music on the internet produces professional sounding recordings.

It comes down to copyright infringement. People sharing their music online do not in most cases own the copyright to the music they make available. When other people record or download files of music others, who do not own the copyright, then there is a violation.

Think of it this way. If you buy a music compact disc you can make as many recordings of that compact disc as you like. As long as you do not sell those copies or give them to someone else. You can use them in your car. Or have them as a back up. But once you give or sell them, you have violated the copyright owner’s rights.

Music companies are trying to discourage this practice. They have actually sued people for millions of dollars. And in some cases the music companies have won large law suits against ordinary people who were downloading music. Whether they knew it was wrong or not they thought the music company would not take them to court over the matter. But they were wrong.

Now you do not have to live in fear or live without the advantage of the latest internet technology. The best thing to do is join a paid service which allows you to download music for a fee. Either you pay a monthly fee or pay a fee for each song you download. This way you know you are safe. If there is a copyright issue, the online company you are paying deals with this not you.

So think twice before you download music. But do not hesitate to join a paid service. You will have your favorite music and you can click away with safety.

In conclusion, downloading movies for iPod can be fun and educational. Listen To Internet Music You can get the best companies for your downloading movies for iPod with a huge economy. This means you can choose to have several movies sitting there at your home waiting for your family movie night.

51vo2mW7iIL. SL160 Heard The Latest About Download Music? The Future of the Internet--And How to Stop It

This extraordinary book explains the engine that has catapulted the Internet from backwater to ubiquity—and reveals that it is sputtering precisely because of its runaway success. With the unwitting help of its users, the generative Internet is on a path to a lockdown, ending its cycle of innovation—and facilitating unsettling new kinds of control.

IPods, iPhones, Xboxes, and TiVos represent the first wave of Internet-centered products that can’t be easily modified by anyone except their vendors or selected partners. These “tethered appliances” have already been used in remarkable but little-known ways: car GPS systems have been reconfigured at the demand of law enforcement to eavesdrop on the occupants at all times, and digital video recorders have been ordered to self-destruct thanks to a lawsuit against the manufacturer thousands of miles away. New Web 2.0 platforms like Google mash-ups and Facebook are rightly touted—but their applications can be similarly monitored and eliminated from a central source. As tethered appliances and applications eclipse the PC, the very nature of the Internet—its “generativity,” or innovative character—is at risk.

The Internet’s current trajectory is one of lost opportunity. Its salvation, Zittrain argues, lies in the hands of its millions of users. Drawing on generative technologies like Wikipedia that have so far survived their own successes, this book shows how to develop new technologies and social structures that allow users to work creatively and collaboratively, participate in solutions, and become true “netizens.”
