Plasma sets are made up of a layer of gas that has been sealed between two panes of glass. This is subjected to electrical current which emits light and shows the image that the programming signal dictates. They are as thin as four inches which means that large speakers are not possible. However, it is possible to wall mount these sets and this is very appealing to many people.
