The chroma key has many names, the hottest being green screen. It’s also called blue screen and color separation overlay. Using the green screen involves the process of putting 2 images together. A non-permanent background—the green screen— is used as an alternative to a background that will be used in a picture. Without green screen Hollywood technology, hits that need plenty of visual effects would not be possible. The result of this would be dull movies that depend on tight shots and studio props. A world without this screen technology would limit cinematic visionaries from following their creative ideas.
In the olden days, the color blue was the common color used as a background for visual effects. This was first employed in the 1930’s. After the 1930’s it was used in several Technicolor films. This finally cleared the path for other cinematic discoveries. The 1st film that used chroma key was the flick modification of Ernerst Hemingway’s ”The Old Man and the Sea.” lots of other flicks followed the lead with the use of chroma technology. Some notable flicks that used chroma key screen technology are Star Wars, Jurassic Park, The Matrix, Harry Potter, The Lord of the Rings Trilogy, and Titanic.
The screen was used when more technologically advanced cameras and film equipment were developed. Green became the favored background color because it is susceptible to light. there is no real need for intensive lighting when using this color. Also, it produces clean and clear lines and produces less noise. This is why green screen Hollywood technology is generally employed.
When shooting with chroma key screens, many important things must be considered. First, never use unacceptable lights and film appliances because this will make shots slovenly and even rough. Always use trustworthy cameras and other appliances whenever shooting with a screen. This way, the standard of the film won’t be compromised. Bear in mind that the object of using this screen is to produce visually striking films. Using low quality hardware will defeat the goal of employing a screen.
Enormous motion picture studios have chroma key technology screens, but for those filmmakers in tight budgets, they can make customised screens with paint or green cloth. Only creativity and courage is required in order to make a screen. Anyone who is driven to make a film can take advantage of green screen Hollywood technology even without a real studio.
There are so many other sites giving different forms of advice on how to use green screen but a lot of them are not very detailed or concise. The Death and Life of the Great American School System: How Testing and Choice Are Undermining EducationA passionate plea to preserve and renew public education, The Death and Life of the Great American School System is a radical change of heart from one of America’s best-known education experts.Diane Ravitch—former assistant secretary of education and a leader in the drive to create a national curriculum—examines her career in education reform and repudiates positions that she once staunchly advocated. Drawing on over forty years of research and experience, Ravitch critiques today’s most popular ideas for restructuring schools, including privatization, standardized testing, punitive accountability, and the feckless multiplication of charter schools. She shows conclusively why the business model is not an appropriate way to improve schools. Using examples from major cities like New York, Philadelphia, Chicago, Denver, and San Diego, Ravitch makes the case that public education today is in peril.
Ravitch includes clear prescriptions for improving America’s schools:
- leave decisions about schools to educators, not politicians or businessmen
- devise a truly national curriculum that sets out what children in every grade should be learning
- expect charter schools to educate the kids who need help the most, not to compete with public schools
- pay teachers a fair wage for their work, not “merit pay” based on deeply flawed and unreliable test scores
- encourage family involvement in education from an early age
The Death and Life of the Great American School System is more than just an analysis of the state of play of the American education system. It is a must-read for any stakeholder in the future of American schooling.
