Loving the HolidaysChristmas Holidays|Xmas Holidays Through the Tradition of Christmas Carols
One of the most loved parts of the christmas season is the beautiful music that is heard and sung everywhere you go. Most normal christmas Carols talk about the arrival of Christ and are also included in many church hymn books all over the world.
The history of conventional xmas Carols is commonly quite touching as well as fascinating.
To make the traditional christmas songs more topical for today\’s youngsters, I made a decision it was time to pen some new song words. So I got to work and wrote a collection of funny christmas songs for children that preserves the 1st tunes of our fave xmas carols, but breathes fully new life into them.
Hanukkah songs are wonderful and rich with convention. A typical image representing Hanukkah is the dreidel. A song that teaches about the dreidel is sometimes known as, \”I have a little Dreidel.\”. I make it a point to buy at least two or three cassettes of these carols each year. If you\’d like to grasp where to get them, read on to discover.
Charles Wesley, bro to John Wesley who founded the Methodist church, wrote Hark the Herald Angels Sing in 1739. A rather somber man, his idea for the music to his lyrics was that it be slow and solemn. For more than a hundred years this joyous christmas Carol was sung to a not so uplifting melody. Then Felix Mendelssohn composed a cantata in 1840 celebrating the invention of the printing press.
English musician William H. Cummings prepared Mendelssohn\’s music to fit the words of Hark the Herald Angels Sing. This resulted in the far happier version that\’s sung today. Silent Night, the most noted xmas Carol ever, began as a poem written by Austrian priest Joseph Mohr in 1816.
The beautiful story behind this takes place in 1818 on christmas Eve in a tiny alpine town named Oberndorf. It is frequently said that the organ was damaged at St. Nicholas Church. Priest Joseph Mohr gave his poem, Silent Night or Stille Nacht, to his good pal Franz Xavier Gruber, who set about composing a guitar tune for it. This simple musical score was finished in time for Midnight Mass and there had been music to be enjoyed.
Up On The House Top : This is another song from Alvin and the Chipmunks which is extremely dear to my heart. This is one of the hit Christmas carols composed by Alvin and the Chipmunks all alone. Released in 1998, this carol became an immediate hit with youngsters and youth alike.
