If you love to watch classic action movies that have deep moral and ethical significance, then look no further than the Japanese classic, “Voyage Into Space.” This classic has, of course, been around for a long time, and is still loved by millions of people around the world. And for good reason. This science fiction classic has everything you could want in a movie. Perhaps one of the greatest reasons for its lasting success is its combination of a simple story with cutting edge technology.

Our fable begins with a covert government association creating a huge robot that will shield the earth against any and all outlandish invaders. The robot is constructed to be controlled by a harmless looking watch that doubles as an advanced transmission device. The only qualification is that the original person who communicates to the massive robot through the watch communication apparatus will be the one who it will forever be respectful too.

And the individual who speaks first to the massive robot is of course a youthful, simple boy. He is only playing when he first picks up the watch, accidentally of course, and speaks to the automaton. But envisage his amazement when the android obeys his every command, and dutifully protects the boy from all manner of harm that comes his way during this classic section of film making.

At first, it would seem that the boy has discovered a dedicated friend, capable of shooting missiles from his fingertips, and picking the boy up and taking him on instant trips around the globe. But this, of course, can’t last very long as the world is quickly invaded by horrifying transformed aliens from the far reaches of space. This is when the genuine test of their friendship is determined. Will the boy and his new found android pal risk all to protect the earth? Will they even be successful?

At first it appears as if the robot will be victorious and shelter the world from the invading monsters, but all is not well. The invading monster is made from a highly explosive substance, and if he is shot, the entire world will be ruined. So shooting the alien dead is not an option for our dominant robot champion. He must respond to the global risk with radical actions indeed.

And in a unhappy tale of self sacrifice, the automaton grabs the monster, and carries him deep into the pits of space, where he will pose no risk to the simple people of the planet. This, of course, leaves the young man without his friend, but he learns a valuable message. Sometimes you must go to great sacrifices to salvage your associates, even to the point of sacrificing your own life. If you would like to watch a interesting show with a overpowering moral message, look no further than “Voyage Into Space.
