Movies From The Last 10 Years That Kept Me Hysterically Laughing
Everyone loves laughing at the movies. Some films do not require seeing in theatres (in fact most films), but along with action and horror films, comedies are one of the few types of movies that are enhanced when viewed with a large audience.
Over the past 10 years, there have been some hilarious films. Here is the best of the best.
It would be foolish to make a list of funny films from recent years and not include The Hangover. Even if you did not find it as funny as most, you cannot argue with the $270 million it grossed at the domestic box office. People loved this movie, and with good reason.
Another comedy that had much success at the box office was the raunchy hit Superbad. Starring Jonah Hill and Michael Cera, this coming of age film was nothing short of laugh out loud hilarious. Christopher Mintz Plasse, as the role of McLovin’, stole the show in this film and as a result, landed the youngster more work.
Another incredibly funny movie that has no doubt achieved cult classic status is Anchorman. Will Ferrell was incredible in this film, and this movie probably has more memorable lines than any comedy in recent memory. People just love to quote Ron Burgundy.
Harold and Kumar Go To White Castle was an instant cult classic. This movie is stupidly brilliant. Neil Patrick Harris was an incredible casting addition, and while Harold and Kumar Escape From Guantanamo Bay was a letdown, the first film will always hold a place in my heart.
Wedding Crashers is a film that stars Owen Wilson and Vince Vaughn at their best. Just hearing the two of them argue throughout the movie is brilliant writing, and Rachel McAdams and Isla Fisher do a great job as the troubled sisters.
While there were many films I considered, in the end, these are the comedic films that I will remember the most (and made me laugh the most) from this past decade.
