Arcades have been popular with children ever since the early 1980′s and their popularity is still great. The earliest arcade games featured gorillas hurling barrels to futuristic computer porgams riding lighted cycles. Many have dreamt about being part of these wonderful new worlds over the past few decades and smashed buttons and jerked joysticks trying to win at these games. These are the forerunners to all of the amazing titles that you can find these days. But let’s get nostalgic for a little while and look back at these classics.

The idea behind one of the all time classics, Donkey Kong, you need to save a girl from a crazed gorilla who is trying to take you out by throwing barrels at you. Not to mention that you need to rescue here and dodge th barrels while also climbing a construction site. Many children and adults the world over have spent countless hours and tons of money on trying to save the damsel in distress. The most popular spin of from the game was another little plumber called Mario. He is undoubtedly the boss and mayor of all console games ever created. It can be argued that he is the single worst thing that has ever happened to kids’ grades the world over.

Take a little yellow circle with a piece missing, eating dots scattered throughout a maze and trying to eat a few ghosts for good measure, while the most irritating music in the world is played. You guessed it. That describes the single greatest video game ever created. It is the most popular and most iconic game and character that ever existed. There have been so much that has developed out of the game with variations of the game, merchanidise and loads more coming out of it.

A game like Robotron 2084 threw a spanner in the works. The controls used to move your hero around the game was one of the biggest innovations of its time in terms of video games. You never used buttons when playing the game. To control your character you had to use one joystick and then use a second joystick to take out the robots who were rying to kill you. During your robot killing spree you also needed to make sure that you save as many of the hostages as possible. The game was incredibly hard and most players were more than satisfied with just surviving the levels rather than passing them.

Aliens attacking Earth. Space Invaders. The only hope is a single ship with a single gun to destroy the enemy and restore peace to this planet. Simple premises are nice in video games and this was the cream of the crop. This game alone spawned the “shoot-em up” genre and set the bar high in doing it as well.

You will find loads of online games like these on skillpod.com. One of the classic card games, which is also extremely popular is pyramid solitaire .
